Award-winning poet, Pushcart Prize nominee, best-selling author and passionate performer Heidi Sander’s poems have appeared in literary journals, anthologies, multiple artistic collaborations and her bestselling poetry collections. As framed artwork, her poems have toured hotels, cafes and restaurants, and are featured in permanent collections on the walls of cancer centres, women’s shelters, and hospice locations.

Significantly, she is the creator of “Pathways To Poetry,” a multimedia online program. The digital platform helps emerging and established poets develop their writing, publish their poetry, and promote their work. Coupled with some of her artistic collaborations, her work also benefits hospices, cancer centres and other charities through partnerships with benefactors.

Markedly Heidi performed her award-winning poem, “How We Live On,” in a short film, dance performance and a theatrical concert. The poem is also included in her bestselling poetry collection, The Forest Of My Mind. Her award-winning book, When I Miss You, is included in a children’s sympathy gift box to support their grief journey.

Above all, as a writer, storytelling is at the heart of everything Heidi Sander does. To her, the art of writing is cathartic and opens doors of discovery. Her greatest joy is fostering the love of writing and encouraging others to share their stories and poetry. Her online program, “Pathways To Poetry,” along with other writing workshops, is part of her larger vision for the poetry and literary community.

Praise for Heidi Sander’s work:

“The language is fluid, impactful, and spare and the attention to sensory detail is divine.”

Stacy R. Nigliazzo, award-winning poet, Sky the Oar and Scissored Moon

“A heartfelt journey of recovery from grief…memorable and exquisitely crafted.”

-Bruce Meyer, award-winning poet and author Grace of Falling Stars

“Your words not only honor those who have been lost, but quite literally summon them into your body of poems. The collection has a sense of vulnerability that feels universal and easy for readers to trust and embrace. At times you move away from the self/personal/human perspective to expand your scope towards the natural world and what it can reveal about hope, growth, and healing, as well.”

-Alan Chazaro, Lawrence Ferlinghetti Fellow and poet of Piñata Theory
